The 3rd International Conference on Science of Science and Innovation (ICSSI) is held at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington D.C. between July 1 and July 3, 2024. I attended the conference for the first two days and gave a contributed talk titled Toward Long-term Computational Reproducibility: Assessing the Archival Rate of URIs to Git Hosting Platforms in Scholarly Publications .  ICSSI is an annual premier conference on Science of Science and Innovation, which started in 2022. I attended the first ICSSI , which was also at the National Academy of Sciences. The second ICSSI was at Northwestern University, Chicago, IL. The conference was initiated by several leaders in this field including Dr. Dashun Wang (University of Northwestern) and Dr. James Evans (University of Chicago). Different from many conferences in Computer and Information Sciences (e.g., ACM SIGIR, IEEE Big Data), this conference does not produce proceedings and it accepts submissions of published work...

On January 14th-15th, I attended the  Federal Cloud Computing Summit  in Washington, D.C., a recurring event in which I have participated in the past. In my continuing role as the MITRE-ATARC Collaboration Session lead, I assisted the host organization, the  Advanced Technology And Research Center  (ATARC) in organizing and run the MITRE-ATARC Collaboration Sessions. The summit is designed to allow Government representatives to meeting and collaborate with industry, academic, and other Government cloud computing practitioners on the current challenges in cloud computing. The collaboration sessions continue to be highly valued within the government and industry. Mat Kelly and Dr. Michael L. Nelson travel to Washington, DC and both report on their current research as well as be made aware of others' work in the field.                            On July 22 and 23, 2014, Dr. Michael Nelson ( @phonedude_mln ) and I ( @machawk1 ) attended Digital Preservation 2014 in Washington, DC. This was my fourth consecutive NDIIPP ( @ndiipp ) / NDSA ( @ndsa2 ) meeting (see trip reports from Digital Preservation 2011 , 2012 , 2013 ).
