Seven courses from the Web Science and Digital Libraries (WS-DL) Group will be offered in Spring 2022.  Because of the continuing Covid-19 situation, the classes will be a mixture of on-line, f2f, and hybrid.  Be sure to check with the instructor and/or the class schedule to verify how the class will be conducted.  Also keep in mind that the f2f classes might go on-line during the semester.

• CS 725/825 Information Visualization and Visual Analytics, Dr. Michele C. Weigle, Tuesdays 4:20-7pm. 
  Topics: Vega-Lite, D3, visual analytics, clustering, interactive visualizations, dashboard design. 
  
• CS 795/895 Natural Language Processing, Dr. Vikas Ashok, Tuesdays & Thursdays 11am-12:15pm. 
  Topics: Language Models, Word2Vec, BERT, Deep Learning, Assistants.  
• CS 795/895 Human Computer Interaction, Dr. Sampath Jayarathna, Thursday 5:45-8:25pm. 
  Topics: Cognitive and social phenomena surrounding human use of computers. 
  
• CS 795/895 Natural Language Understanding, Dr. Jian Wu, Tuesdays 5:45-8:25pm. 
  Topics: Fundamentals of neural networks and deep learning, natural language reference, sentiment analysis, and semantic parsing.

In addition to the WS-DL courses listed above, Dr. Ashok will also be teaching CS 471, Dr. Weigle will be teaching CS 800, Dr. Wu will be teaching CS 450/550, and Dr. Poursardar will be teaching CS 115, CS 150, and CS 250.
